Description: 

The Director, Reimbursement & Payor Policy will lead the development and execution of coverage and reimbursement strategies for Novocure’s products, with a focus on commercial payers. This role will focus on enhancing Novocure’s market access by driving engagement with large and regional commercial payers and contributing to pricing strategy. The Director will work under the Senior Director, Health Policy & Reimbursement, and collaborate with cross functional teams to drive Novocure’s coverage strategy and execution.

 

This is a full-time, exempt position, remote reporting to Senior Director, Health Policy & Reimbursement ad tied to the Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania office.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance coverage and reimbursement of Novocure’s products in commercial insurance plans.
  • Work closely with the Payer Contracting, Medical, Commercial, and Revenue Operations teams to align on and execute coverage and pricing strategies, ensuring consistent and comprehensive market access for Novocure’s products.
  • Monitor and analyze health policy developments, with a focus on those affecting commercial insurance, including Medicare Advantage. Develop and advocate for policies that support the inclusion and reimbursement of Novocure’s products, especially in commercial plans.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key commercial payors, industry groups, and other stakeholders to support Novocure’s market access and reimbursement goals.
  • Collaborate with global value, clinical, and research teams to generate and present data supporting the value proposition of Novocure’s products to commercial payors.
  • Employ strong project management skills by prioritizing and leading multiple tasks concurrently
  • Assist in the analysis and response to regulatory and payment proposals, including those from CMS and other relevant agencies.
  • Collaborate with US Government Affairs team to identify and develop policy priorities related to commercial market access.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree in Health Policy, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in health policy, market access, and reimbursement, including comprehensive knowledge of commercial payment systems and the healthcare regulatory environment.
  • Experience working at a medical device (preferred) or pharmaceutical company.
  • Proven track record in managing complex payer relationships.
  • In-depth understanding of the commercial healthcare market, insurance operations, policy implications, and the coding, coverage, and reimbursement processes for medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills, capable of leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and advocate for policy positions to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to address customer concerns effectively and work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of customer relations, product promotion, and the ability to interpret complex information and provide analysis to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and perform timely follow-ups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Protected Health Information and HIPAA Privacy and Security guidelines preferred.
