Description: 

The Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll in North America and provide timely and accurate financial information. The Payroll Specialist is a member of the Human Resources team and will participate in many human resources activities such as employee onboarding, employee leave administration, 401K administration, and employee benefits administration.

 

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Manager, Payroll of North America, and is located in our Portsmouth, NH - Flagship location. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily payroll operations for new hires/changes/terminations
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports after payroll
  • Timely and accurately report stock plan reporting (ISOs, RSUs, and ESPP) in the payroll system.
  • Comprehend proper taxation of employer-paid benefits, including stock options
  • Process all new state and local taxation jurisdictions
  • Execute time and attendance interface with payroll process
  • Perform accurate and timely year-end reporting of W-2, W-2C, T4’s, etc
  • Develop and maintain ad hoc financial and operations reporting as needed
  • Process manual checks and relocation metrics
  • Perform HR audit processes of Workers' Compensation
  • Perform 401K annual audits and reconciliation
  • Process monthly benefit vendor invoices timely and accurately
  • Create and support in maintaining internal payroll procedures
  • Assist with all other HR processes as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance or related field
  • CPP preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Strong  knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
  • Good communication skills to interact appropriately with HR staff and other employees to meet their needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of Dayforce (Ceridian) Payroll platform, a plus
