Mechanical Technician

 

Novocure is a global medical device company with R&D based in Haifa.  The company is growing quickly as it commercializes TTFields therapy: a novel treatment for aggressive cancers using alternating electric fields.

 

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician who will join the mechanical engineering team, and be responsible for supporting the mechanical development of innovative medical devices

and related applications.


The job holder will be involved in the product life cycle and support the design team through the life cycle.

 

Full-time position at our R&D center, Haifa, Israel

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting an engineering team for the design development, assembly, and testing of Novocure's devices and subsystems.
  • Responsible for manufacturing and assembling prototypes of wearable products, and cutting and assembling soft materials.
  • Testing electrodes for internal experiments.
  • Supporting mechanical products in Novocure systems.
  • Perform in collaboration with the cross-functional development team to ensure that the system meets operational requirements.
  • Perform practical bench testing and debugging of the mechanical design.
  • Transferring feedback to the production of the Novocure devices.
  • Assembling prototypes of Novocure devices in design and development.
  • Assisting in the verification and validation process of the Novocure devices.
  • Compliance with the Novocure design control process.
  • Collaborate with other team members, engineers, managers and product management teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs.
  • Responsible for the laboratory environment and equipment, and laboratory safety.
  • Supporting test equipment calibration.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Qualifications:
  • Practical engineer degree in Mechanical Engineering  or related field -advance
  • Technical training or equivalent experience

 

  • Knowledge:

             

  • At least two years of previous experience in a similar position.
  • Previous experience working in medical equipment design development
  • Ability to think and research creatively
  • Show strong soldering and technical assembly skills
  • Familiarity with machining, lathe and milling machines - an advantage.
  • Experience with electronic soldering.
  • Ability and experience in working delicately and with patience.
  • Ability to understand and read blueprints.
  • Understanding of 3D models designed in CAD software.
  • Ability to work with computers and software for the production of parts, cutting and 3D printing.
