Materials Prototyping Lab Assistant

 

 

Novocure is a global, publicly-traded, commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors. TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality that utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death.

Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe, and Israel.

Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and other types of solid cancers. 

 

We are looking for a highly motivated Materials Prototyping Lab Assistant for a full-time position to support research and development activities within our early innovation lab, specifically in the materials field.

In this role, you will be involved in assisting engineers and scientists in conducting experiments, prototyping, data collection, and documentation.

 

This position is located in Haifa and reports to the Associate Director, Array Innovation and Materials Engineering.

 

 

  • Assist in the development and testing of prototypes, including assembling and modifying components.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and collect data for analysis.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Document experiment procedures and findings, and prepare technical reports.
  • Support engineering and R&D teams in material testing, process validation, and feasibility studies.
  • Organized lab inventory, materials, and tools to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to innovative problem-solving.

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or other scientific discipline/ other relevant certification
(e.g., P
ractical engineer certification)
Materials Science, Chemical engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline

 

 

  • Knowledge:
  • At least 2 years of industry experience in a related field
  • Background in biomaterials and/or applied chemistry/physics
  • Hands-on experience – able to design, construct and execute sophisticated technical material testing experiments
  • Data analysis programming skills (Matlab, Python)- an advantage
  • Prior experience with mechanical or basic drawing knowledge is an advantage
