Senior SAP Basis Administrator

Full Time / Permanent

 

At Novocure, every role contributes to extending the lives of people living with cancer. As our new Senior SAP Basis Administrator you’ll play a key part in this mission.

This role will work under the direction of the Principal SAP Architect and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of SAP Basis administration, system security, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) across the enterprise SAP landscape, inclusive of SAP RISE and Microsoft Azure. This role will be responsible to uphold operational excellence of SAP technical environments, ensuring stability, performance, and security in alignment with corporate IT and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned SAP professional with extensive experience operating and administering Basis and Security functions in a regulated life sciences or pharmaceutical environment. This position will be a part of a global Basis team and partner closely with a managed services provider (MSP) to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing SAP platforms.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, SAP, and based out of our Wayne, PA or Portsmouth, NH office.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Leadership & Strategy

  • Own the global SAP Basis, Security, and GRC components, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT goals and compliance requirements.
  • Manage relationships with third-party managed services providers to ensure service excellence and adherence to SLAs.
  • Define and drive continuous improvement initiatives in system performance, monitoring, and automation.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical and security issues impacting SAP systems.

SAP Basis Management

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of all SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, etc.).
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and system integrity across all environments.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patches, migrations, and refreshes in collaboration with functional and infrastructure teams.
  • Manage system capacity planning and landscape optimization for scalability and performance.

Security & Compliance

  • Own the SAP security architecture and framework, ensuring compliance with SOX, GxP, and other relevant life sciences regulations.
  • Oversee user provisioning, role design, and segregation of duties (SoD) management.
  • Implement and maintain effective controls via SAP GRC for access management, risk analysis, and audit reporting.
  • Partner with IT compliance, internal audit, and QA teams to maintain validated systems and support regulatory inspections.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Collaborate with SAP functional, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to deliver secure, stable, and compliant SAP operations.
  • Drive governance standards and documentation for Basis, Security, and GRC operations.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as S/4HANA migrations, cloud transformation, and technology modernization projects.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration
  •  3+ years in security and GRC
  • Experience working with a diverse global SAP environments and teams across regions and time zones
  • Proven experience managing and optimizing MSP or outsourcing relationships
  • Very good understanding of life sciences regulatory requirements (GxP, SOX, GDPR)
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, HANA database, and cloud-hosted SAP landscapes (SAP RISE and Microsoft Azure)
  • Deep knowledge of SAP Basis, Security, and GRC architecture and best practices
  • Excellent leadership skills, people management, and communication skills
  • 2+ years of BTP and Azure resource management would be a plus
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical problem-solving.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent understanding of ITIL, change management, and system validation processes

 

WHAT WE OFFER

This pay range which Novocure expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting is $120,600 - $170,000/yr. This position may also be eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant in addition to a full range of benefits. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and skills demonstrated.
