PRODUCTION ENGINEER - TEMPORARY CONTRACT 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Production Engineer will be the key person to support the implementation of changes in manufacturing sites and/or process at Novocure SC base. The production engineer will support Novocure manufacturing to implement the manufacturing strategy at the supply base and will be the main source of knowledge in the company for the manufacturing processes for Novocure products.

 

This is a 6-month temporary, remote position with frequent travel to manufacturing sites in the US and Mexico. Ideal candidates will be located in Southern California, or South Texas, with easy travel to Mexico to facilitate on-site visits to our production sites. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for implementation of changes in manufacturing facility for Novocure existing products.
  • Coordinate with engineering and product management departments to develop and implement Manufacturing documents for all products focusing on the manufacturer.
  • Assist Manufacturing & NPI department and manage communication across all departments including integration of all products according to product lifecycle.
  • Develop / Support product test plans and production test according manufacturing process instructions.
  • Ensure compliance to all ECO procedures and Novocure quality procedures.
  • Support design engineering and NPI with the transition of design prototypes into cost efficient and high volume products.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to all production process and methods to facilitate cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Design and write new manufacturing process requirements and associate guidelines.
  • Analyze and recommend corrective action in case of any manufacturing process failure and participate in failure analysis investigations.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and manufacturing department and maintain knowledge on product manufacturing and ramp up status and prepare appropriate plans and reports.
  • Support NPI engineering team ensuring that best practice, DFM, DFA and DFT are implemented during product development.
  • The candidate will also be responsible to work with the manufacturers for NPI / Mass production tool de-bugging, process development, tool validation, and work instructions as well as supporting other engineers on projects as electronics / mechanical and process development subject matter expert.
  • Work with the manufacturer production Test department and Production management to develop new and improve existing tools used in the manufacturing department.
  • Participate in the material review board (MRB) to provide analysis and recommendations.
  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with internal customers and key stakeholders

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

 

Qualifications:    
Required:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Ability to travel to manufacturing sites in Tijuana, Mexico and Juarez, Mexico 

 

Knowledge:

  • Strong foundation in one of the following  - electronics/Mechanical Engineering/Material Engineering.
  • QA and RA basic knowledge in Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device Company
  • Strong technical understanding
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in manufacturing (working with sub-contractors)
  • Knowledge Agile PLM and MS Office
  • CAD SW (Solidworks for example) – advantage
