SAP Basis Administrator

SAP Basis Administrator, Location: Cracow, hybrid (3 days office, 2 days home office). Full time role, permanent position (contract of employment)

As a SAP Basis Administrator you will be responsible for the SAP environment, including, but not limited to, the administration, monitoring, and ongoing support of SAP landscapes. This role ensures system availability and performance for a 24/7 business, partners closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams, and provides hands-on operational support as needed. Experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus.

What You’ll Do

• Administer and support SAP environments (ABAP and/or Java) across environments.
• Perform daily system monitoring and troubleshooting (work processes, jobs, locks, dumps, logs, background processing, interfaces, and performance).
• Manage transports and the change lifecycle (STMS/TMS configuration, imports, troubleshooting, and coordination with release schedules).
• Execute SAP technical maintenance including kernel upgrades, support package stacks, patches, and system refreshes/copies.
• Maintain and tune system performance and capacity (SAP parameters, buffers, memory, dialog/background processing, and OS/DB optimization in coordination with DBAs).
• Administer SAP profiles/parameters, instances, logon groups, and SAP services; manage printers/spool and housekeeping.
• Support connectivity and security-related Basis tasks, including certificates, TLS/SSL, SAProuter, SNC/SSO with CIM, and secure RFC/HTTP integrations.
• Coordinate backup/restore activities, DR readiness, and high availability operations; support audits and compliance requirements as needed.
• Partner with infrastructure teams on OS and virtualization/cloud operations; document runbooks and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide timely incident resolution with clear communication to stakeholders.

About You

To thrive in this role if you will need these essential qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience.

• About 3-5 years of hands-on SAP Basis administration in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver/S4Core architecture and core Basis tools.
• Experience with SAP HANA and/or other SAP-supported databases (as applicable) and coordinating DB operations with DBAs.
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows administration supporting SAP workloads.
• Experience with assisting Security with user and role assignments 
• Experience with Azure resource management, building temporary systems, or making minor adjustments to resources. 
• Solid understanding of change management, release coordination, and production support processes in a 24/7 environment.
• Familiarity with GRC, Jira, and JSM for management tools would be a plus
• Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or similar) is preferred.
• Azure experience is a plus: SAP on Azure, Azure VMs, networking (VNet/NSG), storage, monitoring (Azure Monitor/Log Analytics), backup, and disaster recovery (ASR).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders; customer-service mindset.

What We Offer

The annual base salary ranges from 160-220 000 PLN gross per annum.

This pay range is the range of base pay compensation within which Novocure expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and skills demonstrated.
