The Head of Human Resources Poland acts as a trusted strategic advisor to business leaders across the Kraków Business Center and the broader organization. This role is responsible for translating business priorities and global people strategies into effective local execution, ensuring a high-performing, engaged, and scalable organization. Partnering closely with site leadership, global HR colleagues, and Centers of Excellence, the Head of HR Poland drives organizational effectiveness, talent strategies, leadership development, and culture initiatives while ensuring compliance with local employment regulations.
As the senior HR leader in Poland, this role combines strategic business partnering with hands-on leadership of key people initiatives and complex employee matters, balancing long-term organizational priorities with operational excellence.
This is a full time role tied to the Krakow office and reporting to the Head of Human Resources EMEA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Site Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the senior HR leader for Poland and the primary HR partner for the Kraków Business Center.
- Provide strategic HR leadership and guidance to site leadership and key business stakeholders.
- Lead and develop the local HR Partner, fostering a high-performing and service-oriented HR team
- Collaborate closely with global HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and HR Operations to deliver an aligned people agenda.
- Represent Poland within global and EMEA HR forums and contribute to enterprise-wide HR initiatives.
- Support organizational growth, workforce expansion, and site development strategies.
- Lead local implementation of global transformation and change initiatives.
Strategic HR Business Partnering
- Partner with business leaders to align people strategies with business objectives and organizational priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, and change management.
- Translate business needs into actionable people plans that support sustainable organizational growth.
- Utilize people insights and workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and influence decision-making.
- Ensure successful adoption of global HR programs while adapting approaches to local business needs and market realities.
- Navigate effectively within a complex global matrix environment, balancing local requirements with enterprise priorities.
Talent, Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness
- Drive talent management succession planning, and leadership development initiatives across the organization in close collaboration with the CoE
- Coach leaders to build high-performing teams and strengthen leadership capabilities.
- Partner with leaders to identify, develop, and retain critical talent.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, continuous feedback, and employee growth.
- Support organizational effectiveness initiatives that enhance collaboration, productivity, and employee engagement.
Employee Experience & Culture
- Champion Novocure's values, culture, and leadership expectations within Poland.
- Translate the global people strategy into meaningful local actions and measurable outcomes.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing work environment.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex employee experience and engagement matters.
- Leverage employee feedback and organizational insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Operational HR Leadership & Compliance
- Ensure compliant HR practices aligned with Polish labor law and company policies
- Oversee key HR processes including employee lifecycle, payroll interface, and benefits governance
- Drive continuous improvement of HR processes and employee experience
- Partner closely with HR Operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Provide day-to-day HR support to managers and employees together with the HR Partner, acting as first point of contact for people-related topics
- Advise and support leaders on performance management, employee relations, and team effectiveness
- Partner closely with managers and TA Team on hiring, onboarding, promotions, and employee lifecycle management
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring consistency and fairness
- Driving implementation and execution of HR processes and programs locally (performance management, compensation cycles, engagement surveys)
- Ensure timely and high-quality execution of HR processes in close collaboration with HR Operations and COEs
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience as a Senior HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or HR Leader supporting senior business leaders within a complex organization
- Experience partnering with senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, talent management, and business transformation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Polish labor law and HR practices.
- Experience operating within a multinational, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic HR leadership with hands-on execution.
- Fluent in Polish and English.
- Leadership & Behavioral Competencies and strategic mindset with strong business acumen.
- Ability to translate strategy into practical and actionable solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
- High level of ownership, resilience, and adaptability.
