Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields)

for patients with solid tumors.

Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe, and Israel. Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, and other types of solid cancers. 


We are looking for a Data Scientist, Management who will be responsible for algorithm development for monitoring and predicting various issues that may impact the treatment outcomes. By leading the analyses for cutting-edge next-generation sequencing (NGS), analyzing exciting large-scale genomic data; by designing high-performance computing platforms and analysis workflow.




  • Management of data science activities within the Biostatistics department
  • Development and tuning of predictive models to improve product delivery and outcomes
  • Establish specific data and workflow requirements to ensure that content, timing, lineage, and transformation needs are well understood and addressed
  • Work with the Product team to identify optimal approach(es) for delivering information insights into workflow
  • Development of analysis plans, methods, and reports for various data science initiatives within the clinical and product teams
  • Find relevant patterns and detect device failures and develop methods for detecting and preventing device failure based on data.
  • Develop and test algorithms for predicting various issues that impact treatment outcomes.
  • Work closely with engineers and scientists in the company to integrate data analysis methods into products.
  • Perform and lead the creation of predictive models of patient outcomes in a survival analysis
  • Synthesis of evidence related to preliminary hypotheses regarding product use and treatment behavior
  • Lead activities of bio-informatics including the development of algorithms for cutting-edge next-generation sequencing (NGS), analyzing exciting large-scale genomic data; developing high-performance computing platforms and analysis workflow.
  • Write documents and prepare presentations necessary for patents, regulatory submissions, academic conferences, and other scientific publications.






  • PhD in biomedical/electrical/computer engineering or a related field
  • 7 years of industry experience, and specifically experience in bioinformatics methods.  
  • 4 years of experience as a team leader - is required.
  • Experience in statistical methods; Bayesian background with emphasis on hierarchical modeling and mixed effect models is preferred.
  • Solid background in machine learning methods.
  • Solid background in signal processing.
  • Proficient in processing large datasets.
  • Team player, present capability working in a multi-disciplinary environment involving software engineers, physicists, algorithm engineers, and physicians.
  • Independent and capable of solving complex algorithmic problems with minimal guidance.
  • Knowledge in survival analysis
  • High level of proficiency in SQL, Python, and R.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written) and have excellent communication skills
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and creative with excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of clinical databases- advantage
  • Familiar with image processing methods - advantage
