Project Manager, R&D 

 

Novocure is a global medical device company with R&D based in Haifa.  The company is growing quickly as it commercializes TTFields therapy: a novel treatment for aggressive cancers using alternating electric fields.

 

We are looking for an experienced project manager to lead engineering activities and projects that support activities of Novocure’s pre-clinical programs.

 

The candidate will be responsible for managing key projects as well as creating structures around project activities. The project manager will partner with the Head of Engineering and the Head of Preclinical Research to lead projects through effective, cross-functional planning and execution. He/she should be able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms, architectures. The individual will work closely with engineering, pre-clinical, science, clinical, regulatory, quality, supply chain and other cross-functional members as required.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a strong understanding of engineering product/testing requirements for pre-clinical projects and work with engineering, preclinical teams and relevant stakeholders to develop strong execution strategy/milestones.
  • Define project needs and lead the project through its development cycle.
  • Solve complex problems, structure deliverables and commitments and help pre-clinical and engineering teams to meet commitments.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop a detailed project plan that is both holistic and detailed and takes into account both design control deliverables and other deliverables required for a clinical study or commercial launch.
  • Proactively manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Coordinate internal and third parties/vendors resources for the project's different tasks.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Responsibility for communicating project status within the project team and management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Qualifications:

BSc or equivalent in engineering.

 

  • Knowledge:
  • 5 years of experience managing R&D projects in the medical device industry that includes multi-disciplinary systems. 
  • Experience in preclinical development and processes (early research through the first inpatient) in the medical or biotech company
  • Knowledge of GLP practices and studies is desirable but not a requirement.
  • Knowledge of design controls for medical devices.
  • Expertise in product development best practices and processes, having both big picture awareness and hands-on knowledge.
  • Project management for class III medical devices is a plus
  • Strong communications skills in both English and Hebrew.
  • Strong influencing skills.
