Biology Lab Technician
About the role:
We are looking for a full-time Biology Lab Technician to join our Pre-Clinical department at Novocure’s R&D center in Haifa.
In this hands-on role, you will work across two tissue culture laboratories, supporting ongoing biological research activities and helping ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant laboratory operations. You will be part of a collaborative research environment focused on advancing innovative cancer treatment technologies that have a direct impact on patients’ lives.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys laboratory work, thrives in dynamic environments, and can balance multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and precision. Success in this role means becoming a reliable operational partner within the lab, supporting researchers effectively, maintaining organized and compliant workflows, and adapting quickly to evolving research needs and priorities.
The position reports to the Biology Lab Manager.
What you will do:
- Perform routine cell culture work, including cell thawing, splitting, and maintenance.
- Prepare media, buffers, and laboratory solutions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, devices, and cell culture plates.
- Operate and work with laboratory systems and equipment.
- Execute bio-assays including bio-compatibility testing and mycoplasma detection.
- Support researchers with ongoing tissue culture experiments and laboratory activities.
- Document laboratory activities and write work procedures according to GLP standards.
- Receive and execute ongoing tasks according to changing laboratory needs and priorities.
- Manage workload allocation and task execution across two laboratory environments.
What you will bring:
- B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Practical Engineer diploma, or another relevant field of study.
- Experience working in sterile tissue culture environments.
- Familiarity with standard biological laboratory techniques and methods is an advantage.
- Strong technical and hands-on laboratory skills.
- Good teamwork and communication abilities.
- High level of English, both spoken and written.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to manage shifting priorities, respond to spontaneous workload peaks, and divide time effectively between two laboratories.
