Device Support Specialist - 12-month fixed-term contract

Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors. TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality which utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death. Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe and Israel. 

We are currently looking for a Device Support Specialist working in a task-based system, with approximately 60% of the time spent traveling to patients. It will be a 12-month fixed-term contract with a potential opportunity to extend it.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The tasks of device support specialists include the organization and implementation of treatment starts of patients with different tumor diseases, including the enhanced training phase. In the further course of treatment, they support patients in increasing their wearing time and generating the individual maximum possible from the therapy. To do this, they analyze device data, provide feedback and offer training when needed. The goal is to make the treatment process as smooth as possible for patients, for which personal on-site visits and outreach to the company's patient hotline are regular activities. Application Specialists are also responsible for regular physical equipment checks, managing inventories, documenting patient interactions in our CRM system, and assisting with tracking orders and organizing the return of therapy equipment when therapy is completed. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Independent planning & execution of patient visits, including organization of required materials 

  • Close cooperation with the regional manager 

  • Conduct patient and caregiver training or follow-up training on all Novocure medical devices. 

  • Participation in meetings, conferences, projects and product trials 

  • Perform administrative tasks, such as preparing expense reports. 

  • Equipment management, purchasing office supplies for home office, etc. 

  • Regular review of device use and function at patient's home or remotely 

  • Reactive & proactive troubleshooting of therapy equipment according to a defined procedure and close cooperation with GTS (Global Technical Support). 

  • Reading out and evaluating the therapy device data within the time specifications 

  • General therapy support for commercial patients and study patients with various tumor diseases, in exceptional cases also beyond the usual working hours  

  • Provide telephone/virtual assistance to patients as needed 

  • Where applicable, support telephone on-call duty (night and weekend standby), which is divided among all device support specialists 

  • Independent work in the defined area of operation 

  • Flexibility to support neighboring regions at short notice 

  • Cooperation, coordination and personal exchange with other internal departments, e.g. sales field service, medical science liaison, revenue operation, clinical operations, warehouse operations 

  • Willingness to travel up to 60% to see patients in their homes and in health and care facilities 

  • Documentation of work activity, patient feedback, medical and technical events in our CRM system. 

  • Organization & supervision of the follow-up care of patients with necessary therapy equipment 

  • Substitution of colleagues in case of absence, e.g. vacation, illness 

QUALIFICATIONS/PROFILES:  

Qualifications: 

  • Completed training or studies, ideally in the health sector 

  • Professional experience in dealing with ill people and their relatives 

  • Ideally, experience in field sales (not sales) 

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and willingness to learn other programs 

  • Polish fluent in spoken and written 

  • Advanced knowledge of written and spoken English (B2 level) 

  • A valid driver's license class B

    COMPENSATION:

    The annual base salary ranges from 160.000 PLN to 180.000 PLN yearly*.

    This pay range is the range of base pay compensation within which Novocure expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and skills demonstrated.
