Description:

Territory Manager (TGI) - Chicago, Illinois

Field Based / Full Time / Permanent

At Novocure, every role contributes to extending the lives of people living with cancer. As our Territory Manager for Chicago, you will introduce healthcare professionals to an innovative cancer therapy, build relationships across the territory, and help more appropriate patients gain access to treatment.

This opportunity calls for a driven, resourceful territory builder. The Chicago territory needs hands-on development, and access to healthcare professionals can be difficult to earn. We are looking for someone who has opened new accounts, created opportunities where established relationships did not exist, and turned an initial conversation into an ongoing clinical partnership.

We welcome candidates with a strong record of developing new business in medical devices or oncology. Experience or relationships in pancreatic cancer can be valuable, but your ability to gain access, build rapport, learn the clinical evidence, and make progress through setbacks matters more.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Prospect across academic and community oncology settings to identify healthcare professionals and accounts where Novocure’s therapy may be relevant.
  • Build trusted relationships with oncologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams involved in the treatment of thoracic and gastrointestinal cancers.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on Novocure’s technology, supporting clinical evidence, and appropriate patient identification.
  • Develop thoughtful ways to reach difficult to access accounts, identify decision-makers, and earn meaningful appointments.
  • Make each customer interaction count by listening closely, addressing questions credibly, and securing a clear next step for continued engagement.
  • Translate complex clinical and scientific information into clear, relevant discussions with healthcare professionals.
  • Create and execute a territory plan that balances new account development, follow-up, and growth in existing relationships.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned Chicago territory to meet customers and support account needs.

ABOUT YOU

  • Three or more years of successful experience in medical device, oncology, specialty biopharmaceutical, or related healthcare sales; comparable experience building clinical relationships will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated success opening new accounts, generating opportunities, and growing a territory that required persistence and self-direction.
  • Ability to earn access to busy healthcare professionals and build rapport that leads to repeat conversations and lasting relationships.
  • Experience in medical devices or oncology is strongly preferred. Familiarity with pancreatic cancer is a plus, not a prerequisite.
  • Comfort discussing clinical information with healthcare professionals and the curiosity to learn and communicate complex evidence accurately.
  • A practical, proactive approach to prospecting widely, prioritizing accounts, and following through consistently.
  • Resilience when outreach does not lead to an immediate meeting or decision, and the judgment to adapt your approach based on what you learn.
  • Motivation to take ownership of results, seek out new opportunities, and work independently in a field-based role.
  • Strong listening skills, sound judgment, and a respectful approach to helping healthcare professionals consider appropriate treatment options.
  • Ability to balance Novocure’s patient-focused mission with accountability for commercial objectives.
  • Consistent record of performance, professional stability, and personal accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required; clinical or advanced degree preferred.
  • Must live within the assigned Chicago territory.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel as needed.

WHAT WE OFFER

The pay range which Novocure expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting is $145,000 - $175,000/yr. This position may also be eligible for a quarterly incentive bonus and restricted stock unit grant in addition to a full range of benefits. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and skills demonstrated.
